Sor Juana’s comedy of errors is considered one of the most prominent works of late baroque Spanish-American literature. It is a rare playwright, with radical feminine characters, a representation of the complicated system of human relationships, feelings, and weaknesses. The play becomes even more interesting, after studying about her background, as a nun and a writer, as a person with a passion for education and poetry.
Adapting the play to the present day, characters represent modern but at the same time nostalgic ideas. Tulle is the main material for costumes, in vivid colors, and exaggerated forms, that are sometimes revealing and sometimes mysterious. Under this thin and semi-transparent material, are all confusing with each other, transformed into something else, become the objects of desire or mythical non-human beings.
